Implants

The most effective tooth replacement option available today. Restores the look, function, and health of your teeth.

About The Service

Through a technique known as dental implant surgery, tooth roots are replaced with metal, screw-like posts, and damaged or missing teeth are replaced with prosthetic teeth that closely resemble real ones in appearance and function.

When Should I Get Implants?

When natural tooth roots are lacking and it is not possible to construct denture or bridgework tooth replacements, dental implant surgery might provide a welcome alternative. Dental implants forgo the need for tooth roots and allow for a lifelike crown or replacement tooth to sit alongside your other teeth. If regular cosmetic or dental procedures are ineffective, consider an implant to replace the tooth and keep that smile intact! It's also not as invasive as dentures, particularly if you only have a tooth or two to implant.

Benefits of Dental Implant Systems:

  • Restores the ability to chew
  • Restores cosmetic appearance
  • Helps keep the jawbone from shrinking due to bone loss
  • Preserves the health of the surrounding bone and gums
  • Helps keep adjacent (nearby) teeth stable
  • Improves quality of life

How Does It Work?

As always, it begins with a consultation at Peony Dental to ensure that you are the right fit for this type of procedure. Dental implant systems consist of a dental implant body and dental implant abutment and may also include an abutment fixation screw. The dental implant body is surgically inserted in the jawbone in place of the tooth's root. The dental implant abutment is usually attached to the implant body by the abutment fixation screw and extends through gums into the mouth to support the attached artificial teeth. After it is installed you may feel discomfort for several weeks as this is a surgical procedure.
